Monazite (rare earths)

Monazite is our main source of rare earths. Individually separated in form of oxides with high purity grades, they are fundamental for state of the art technology applications, such as:

» Permanent magnets destined to miniaturized engines,
    » Sensors,
    » Nuclear magnetic resonance,
    » Magnetic levitation (bullet train),
» Catalysts for the automotive industry, among others.

Such products are known as "Third Wave Materials". Monazite has, in its composition, 15 metals known as lanthanides, plus yttrium. These activities are developed at INB Caldas.
