In INB Resende, south of Rio de Janeiro, is the Nuclear Fuel Factory (FCN). In this industrial unit – a pioneer activity in Brazil – there is a production of dust and uranium dioxide pallets, the isotopic enrichments of uranium activities, production of components and Fuel element assembly.
FNC counts with an internal security nuclear program and another one, external, for environmental care. Internally, a nuclear counting system makes a continuous balance of processing material, with a precision that comes to decimal milligrams. This accounting is demanded by National Nuclear Eneregy Commission (CNEN) and supervised by International Agency for Atomic Energy (AIEA).
