The best way to find out how a company works is to get to know it in person. That is why INB’s units in Resende (RJ), Caetité (BA) and Caldas (MG) are open to public visitation. Those interested should contact the company's corporate communication section to arrange a visit. Only people over 14 can participate.
The public visiting the Nuclear Fuel Factory (FCN), in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, begins to understand its operation by watching a movie about the Nuclear Fuel Cycle. Next, a company’s technician chosen according to the visitors’ profile will give an overview of the site operations. Visitors are led to some of the factory’s facilities and Zoo and botanical Center where you can learn more about the cultivation of seedlings and species of local flora and fauna. At the end of the visit, a questionnaire to assess the experience is distributed.
In Caetité, Bahia, the visit’s itinerary includes the Mine Overlook and the Horto Florestal (forest garden), but all areas are displayed in the explanations and overviews conducted by INB technicians. From 1997 until the end of 2014, more than 30 thousand people visited the unit to know how uranium mining and processing is done.
The Caldas unit, in Minas Gerais, is also with open doors for visitors. Company’s professionals make a presentation of the work done at the site, which houses the Environmental Laboratory for Chemical and Radiological Analysis - a reference in the nuclear sector.
All visits are recorded in photos, which will next be sent to participants.
