Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB) participates in the 62nd General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), along with entities related to the Brazilian nuclear sector. The conference is taking place in Vienna this week from Monday 17th to Friday 21st.
There is a prominent stand at the venue with material from INB, Nuclebrás Equipamentos Pesados (Nuclep), Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear(CNEN) and Amazul.
Representing INB, the president Reinaldo Gonzaga is accompanied by the engineer Fábio Junqueira and the physicist Cesar Costa.
The main point of the 62nd IAEA Conference is a scientific forum on climate, in which experts discuss how nuclear science and technology helps to mitigate, monitor and adapt to climate change.
On the agenda of the Conference also is the strengthening of nuclear medicine safety, the use of technologies to combat cancer and forensic science, the role of informal leadership in achieving gender equality and other technical and political issues.
Among the most important debates, the "Delivering results against cancer", in which high-level experts from cancer centers around the world highlighted the IAEA's support in training, technical advice and acquisition of tools and equipment to combat the cancer disease.
